The biggest cost in any construction related project are material and labor. While material costs can be lowered down using less expensive material or searching for sale or clearance, labor cost normally the same or probably more if the project takes longer, depending on the agreement and what comes up during the project.

Peel and Stick / Removable Wallpaper

The easiest way to change a look in a room is to change the wall color. It can be by new paint color or put up a wallpaper. Do not think of the big piece of wallpaper with smelly glue that is hard to take off when you decide to change it. There’s a removable wallpaper which is also known as a peel and stick wallpaper. Whether you are a homeowner, a landlord or a renter, this removable wallpaper will change the look of your room without creating any major significant damage and doesn’t need extraordinary skill to apply it. Since it’s peel and stick and it’s a paper, it is definitely a DIY friendly product. It comes in various colors and patterns. If you can’t find any patterns that you like, you can custom order it. There are some websites where you can design your own wallpaper like spoonflower, pickawall, muralsyourway or designyourwall.

Carpet Tiles

Other than walls, floor is the biggest space in the room that will have a significant affect once you change it. Carpet tiles is the easiest to use to change the floor. It’s peel and stick and you only need a razor blade to cut it. Just like wallpaper, it comes with different color, patterns and shapes. Or you can be creative and create your own pattern by using different color tiles. This is budget friendly and I find it very fun to work with in a kids room or playroom. If it’s worn out, simply peel off the tile and replace it with a new one. You don’t have to pull out carpet in a whole room.
